| 14' aluminum fishing boat |
Question:
Anyone know approximately how much a 14' bare v-hull alum boat weighs? anyone try to car top one of these?
I understand there are many types, models, thickness etc...just seeing if I can get away from using a trailer.
Answer:
A 14 Valco is about 150#. If you put the flip down wheels on the transom, it is not to bad to car top. Used to do mine on a 75 Chevy van. I have a trailer for mine now and it is much more convenient. Leave a lot of the stuff in the boat and have better seats in it. Quicker to go fishing. Don't have to load and unload the battery and electronics as well as the motor each time.
