Bass Fishing Trip

Question:
I live in southern Michigan and I am planning a fishing trip for early April. I would like to know of a place that has good bass fishing, BASS BOAT RENTALS and a cheap place to stay. Anyplace in the east, not as far south as southern Georgia or southern Alabama, and not as far west as Texas or Oklahoma. Someplace that will be decently warm then too. It seems hard to find places that rent nicely equipped bass boats that you don't have to use a guide service with. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to look into West Point Lake, Lagrange, Ga. It has a 16 inch limit on bass, it also has crappie and hybrid bass. With the slot limit on bass it’s not unusual to catch 50 bass a day. There is excellent accommodations at Highland Marina, good fiberglass bass boats, cabin rentals as well as tent camping. Guides if you want them, but probably not needed since the people there are very friendly.
