Question:
I'm considering getting a Tracker Pro Team 175. Any positive or negative experiences with this boat? Is there another boat in the same price range that you would recommend instead?
Also as for the price is concerned. I'm new to boat purchases. How much negotiation goes on with boats in this price range?
Answer:
Do you primarily fish smaller rivers, ponds and lakes or are you going to venture out on BIG water? Different hull designs are required if you are going to be where the water is going to get rough. I know, I quite often fish a 30,000 acre bay off of Lake Superior and there's lots of time when my 17' Tuffy just isn't up to the task, no matter how stable and dry riding my boat is.
If you're planning to stay on "smaller" water, or you can resign yourself to the fact that you're going to have to run to the landing when the weather kicks up, the Tracker is probably a fine boat
I agree with almost all the comments on the Tracker Boats. I too have a Pro 175, with a 75HP. The only concern would be with big water. If you stay on smaller sheltered lakes it is a great boat. I would not buy one again where I live in Texas because most of the lakes I fish are 30,000 acres and when the wind kicks up (just about every day in Texas) you cannot get away from shore without getting wet. If wind and rough water is not a concern I think you will be happy.
