Question:
What is the fishing report for Biscayne Bay?
Answer:
High winds continue to plague us this month. Fishing in the back country has been hot and cold. During the days with west wind it’s been slow and difficult. But during a easterly wind it’s been good. With some large snook coming from the rivers and creeks around the ponce de leon bay area during a falling tide. Lots of snook, redfish, snapper and trout are coming from the white water bay area.
Bone fishing in Biscayne Bay has been real hot. Lots of schools of
10-20 fish averaging 7-8 lbs. with plenty of single bones in the 10 to 12 lb. class. The high wind has made fishing for them difficult.
Tarpon at night has been the most constant hooking tarpon every night averaging 25-45 lbs. with some big fish showing up in the 80s and up.
These fish have been eating well on fly and bait. And were not effected by the wind.
