Question:
Fenwick rod, How come nobody talk about them! Are they so bad! Or is there so many better rods out there! Up here in
Canada it seem that we can find Fenwick everywhere, is it a Canadian brand?
Answer:
Fenwick is a US brand that years ago made decent fiberglass rods, and then when they started building graphite, they produced a lot of junk for the Wal-Mart market segment. Their HMXF (or is it HMF) line that retails for about $159-179 CDN is an excellent value for the money but their department store models are still crap. I tried one of their Streamer models, it was so weak and flabby in the butt section, and it could barely cast 40' without a tailing loop or other ugliness.
