Question:
I may be spending some time (spring/summer) in Santa Clara CA. I was wondering if there are any streams or rivers that are nearby to fish. If there are, when (time of year) is best?? What flies?? How prolific are the hatches?? What type and avg. size of fish does river hold?? Any info would be helpful!
Answer:
There's a lake just 20 minutes up the 280 freeway that's a reservoir the San Francisco area that's said to have lots of huge trout, but fishing is strictly prohibited and it's enforced. I've heard that exceptions are made for influential politicians.
