Question:
I have an original Bass-Oreno lure with its original box. I also have a
Dive-Oreno without a box. These are very old lures made of wood and are in good condition. Does anyone know what they are worth on the collecting circuit? I also have two Bronson Altoona Level Winding Casting Reels Model 4250 in there original boxes as well. They appear to be in very good condition as well. Anyone know if they are worth anything? Is there a web site dedicated to collecting antique fishing tackle that I can visit?
Answer:
The Bass-Oreno was introduced around 1915. The actual value of your lure would depend on its age. To help you with this tack consider this, 1915-no eyes,
1927-glass eyes, 1935-tack eyes, 1951-pressed eyes and lastly painted eyes.
Collector value will range $20.00-30.00
Bronson values range as low as $8.00 to the high of $30.00 for the "Torrent"
Use your Search engine for "fishing reel/lure collecting". There are a few clubs sites and some personal web pages on the subject.
