from the UK at the end of Jan and
would like to visit a decent tackle
shop. Can anyone recommend somewhere
and possibly a web address? Or even
a good online sea fishing tackle
shop?

There is a tackle store on 23rd
street in Manhattan, New York City.
I don't remember whether it is in
the west side or in the east side.
It is probably near the east side.
I haven't been there for years.
I am not sure if they are still
open.
There is
a fishing department in Paragon
sporting goods store on Boardway
in Manhattan, New York City. It
is just north of Union Square. That
store is big; their fishing department
is small though. There are a couple
small tackle stores in City Island
(part of New York City) where you
can rent a small 3-persons boat.
