Fly Fishing publication for choosing the proper rod and reel
Question:
Does anyone know if their is a book that you can buy to help the many fly fishing enthusiasts pick out the proper rod & reel for his/her experience level?

Answer:
I would first ask you what you are going to be fishing for. Trout? Bass? Pan fish? Salt water? Pike? Also, what size/type water? Small mountain creeks, medium to large streams/rivers? Ponds? Ocean? All of these will dictate what kind of rod and reel (and line) you will need. Regular streams and big creeks for trout I would suggest something like a 4 or 5 weight 9 foot rod with a good reel containing backing and a WF floating line. Many will disagree with this, but buy the best equipment you can afford.
