| Suggestions re: Lodges, Guides in Montana. etc. |
Question:
Trying to plan a week to 10 day fly fishing trip to Montana or Colorado or Idaho next summer. Looking for suggestions for accommodations, guides etc. with reasonable (not necessarily cheap) costs and good fly fishing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Answer:
You can't do better than Big Hole Outfitters, which is really a lodge southwest of Butte. It's been two years since I was up there, but the owner and his staff are absolutely first rate. The primary fishing is on the Big Hole and is mostly floating, or on a smaller stream that runs by the lodge, but when we were there he also has access to an excellent private pond and a bit of private stream water. I found the place through Frontiers International (in PA, 800 245 1950) which is your best bet for the best choices in US and world fishing destinations.
