Fishing Boat Suggestions & Options
Question:
I want to purchase a good new aluminum fishing boat. I already have a Yamaha 115 2 stroke with a 20" shaft. I have been considering the following boats Crestliner 1850 Fishhawk Lund Alaskan 20 SS I was able to go to dealers and look at both of these boats. I do have a few concerns with the crestliner, the big one being the bow livewell. (Seems flimsy to me) Other than that the boat seemed to be built well. The Lund appears to be very solid. I was very impressed with the beam of the crestliner. It is a huge 18' boat. The Lund is longer but it is not as wide. I know I am not really comparing apples to apples here, I am more concerned with quality of construction and rough-water ride than anything else. Anyone with experiences / opinions they can share with these boats is appreciated.

Answer:
There are a number of Lunds to choose from, with the Alaskan being on the stripper or cheap end of the list as I recall. Some of the Lunds will be at least as wide as the Crestliner. Check out the 1800 Fisherman or 1800 pro-v for boats more comparable to the Fishhawk.
