Peacock Bass Fishing In Hawaii?
Question:
My question is, has anyone been there, and gone fishing for peacock bass while staying? We'll be staying on the Big Island, at Kona, and I was wondering if there are any opportunities to do the peacock bass fishing there. I can't seem to find anything on the Hawaii search links I've found.

Answer:
The only peacock bass fishing in Hawaii that I have heard of is in Kauai. There's a guide who will take you out to big lake (river?) that they have where there are largemouth and peacock bass. I have not heard how good it is though. I do remember it being a pain in the butt to have to go to the airport and jump on a plane to get to another island. I have been to Kona but I don't believe there is any inland water of enough size for bass fishing on that island. Your best bet would be to go after some marlin for a day.
