| Skeeter bass boats |
Question:
I have been looking to buy a 1-2 year old bass boat, and have narrowed my search down to a Skeeter, Triton, or Ranger. I really like the layout and design of the skeeters, but I have been reading a few negative things concerning their hulls. I know that you usually only ever hear about the problems, so that is why I am asking this question to this group.
What have all of you heard or experienced concerning the Skeeter brand?
Do they have any more problems with gel coat cracks than any other brand?
If you had to choose the ideal brand, which would it be?
Answer:
Ranger boats are the largely undisputed top brand in bass boats.
They have a reputation as extremely well built and durable.
Champion boats are considered by some to be the top brand. You probably cannot go wrong with either.
Skeeter has had some problems in the past, but I've heard that their quality has improved. But I have no direct experience in this.
Tritons have not been around too long. They are a newer brand built by an ex racing boat guy. Their design shows this. I've heard nothing about long term quality. Surprisingly, I hear very little about them at all.
