Buffalo River / San Antonio Texas Bass Fishing
Question:
I just got back from a fishing trip on the Buffalo River in TN (around Waverly) and had a few questions for anyone that has fished this river. It was very nice trip and caught some good size bass (4-6lbs). It was just great being out with no one around. This was my second time on the Buffalo River. We came in through the Duct River and then went up the Buffalo. My dad has a flat bed steel boat with a 45hp motor (which is not propeller, but as a jet ski type engine). Sorry for my lack of terminology. I use to fish a lot when I was young and now I want to get back into it. Anyway, I got some pictures if anyone is interested. Let me know and I will post some pictures of that area. My question is about the limits on this river. I have asked a couple of game wardens in the area, but no one seems to know the max number of fish you can catch or what size you are allowed to keep. Thought maybe someone in this group would know. My last question is about San Antonio, TX (where I live). Does anyone know any good rivers/lakes in this area that do no require a boat to bass fish at? I have heard that near Canyon Lake where it lets into the Guadalupe river that they stock it with salmon in the winter.

Answer:
The only place I would suggest is the rivers and creeks in the hill country. I knew that they were stocking Guadalupe with trout but I never heard about the salmon. Plus it has been a while since I have been fishing in the area. But I do plan to make a trip down to canyon when I get back to central Texas
